One of the biggest concerns we hear from Credit Union Marketing teams considering HubSpot is:

💭 “Can HubSpot integrate with our core banking or loan origination system?”

It’s a valid concern. Credit unions rely on core banking systems (CORE), loan origination systems (LOS), and other financial platforms. These are critical to operations. But, they are not always designed for seamless integration with external marketing tools.

The good news? Yes, you can integrate your data into HubSpot. And in this article, we’ll break down how it works, why we recommend our approach, and which systems can connect with HubSpot.

Why Credit Unions Struggle with Data Integration

Many Credit Unions face data silos. They struggle to:
✅ Sync loan application data with marketing automation
✅ Track member interactions across platforms
✅ Deliver personalized messaging to members
✅ Generate ROI reports from scattered data sources

Most CORE and LOS platforms do not allow direct API access, or they charge high fees for integrations. In some cases, vendors may even revoke API access or increase costs over time.

That’s why we’ve developed a more flexible, cost-effective approach that works for most Credit Unions.

How We Integrate Your Data with HubSpot

We use SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) and Middleware to automate data syncs. This connects your systems with HubSpot.

Our Process in 6 Steps:
1️⃣ Determine key data points – Identify what information needs to be brought into HubSpot (e.g., loan applications, member interactions, balances).

2️⃣ Extract data from CORE/LOS – Work with your IT team to generate a custom CSV file for export. This can be automated or done manually.

3️⃣ Secure data transfer – The file is placed in a folder for daily imports via SFTP (encrypted file transfer).

4️⃣ Data transformation – A middleware tool processes the data, making necessary adjustments (e.g., date formatting, standardizing names, merging fields).

5️⃣ Map to HubSpot fields – The transformed data is assigned to the correct HubSpot properties.

6️⃣ Sync with HubSpot – The system automatically creates or updates records in HubSpot (contacts, deals, tickets, etc.).

Why this works

🔹 No direct API access needed – Avoid costly vendor fees.
🔹 Automated & secure – Reduces manual work and ensures accuracy.
🔹 Scalable – Works for multiple systems, including loan origination, membership data, and marketing insights.
